Cafe Associate - Open Shift PART TIME (Job # 1138)
The Café Associate is responsible for setting the tone of Palermo’s Café for its customers. A high school Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 1 year experience working in a Restaurant environment is required. They must be hospitable to both internal and external customers and have experience dealing with customers. They should demonstrate culinary skill and be knowledgeable of Palermo’s pizza products and other dishes. They will be prepping, preparing and serving. They should follow culinary standards/recipes for Palermo’s. The kitchen must remain clean, organized and safe. They must be flexible to assist with special events as they arise.
Sr. Food Scientist - (Job # 1147)
Palermo's Pizza is currently seeking a Senior Food Scientist to lead technical projects within our Research & Development Department. Work with a cross-functional team to execute R&D projects that include branded and private label product development, new platform development, quality improvements and cost reductions. Drawing on past food manufacturing industry experience and industry networks, introduce new concepts and technologies to the company to further the success of our company, the development of the Palermo’s Innovation Center and our team of Food Scientists.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the culinary arts and food science, the technical ability to perform the associated functions of product development, and have strong analytical/problem solving skills. This candidate will also possess the ability to think creatively, work independently, drive for solutions, and act/be recognized as an internal subject matter expert. A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field with 5-7 years experience in a food manufacturing/R&D environment is required, preferably with a major food manufacturer.
QA Manager (Job #1145)
Quality Manager’s primary role is to ensure product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance within plant manufacturing. The Quality Manager is responsible for day to day plant quality execution. The essential areas of accountability are: developing the skill set of Quality personnel, maintain and develop quality systems and procedures that support GFSI initiative, develops and stewards quality and food safety related communication and training for plant operations team members, participate in regulatory, customer, and internal audits, oversee laboratory analysis on raw materials and finished goods and interprets the results, performs root cause analysis, manage departmental budget and represents quality in cross functional teams for new product commercialization, new equipment, or process improvement initiatives. This person will possess a BS in Food Science or a related field and will have demonstrated proficiency with MSOffice applications, databases, statistics, and math. HACCP certified preferred.
Maintenance Mechanic – 2nd or 3rd shift (Job #1152)
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing duties to support and maintain production lines through the repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery, equipment, building and facilities. Extensive knowledge of all machinery located in Palermo Villa and knowledge of various industrial mechanical processes to include: pneumatic, hydraulic and electro-mechanical controls, metal fabrication, welding. A working knowledge of HVAC and/or Ammonia refrigeration as well as an extensive industrial electrical background is required. Moderate computer skills in Microsoft Windows including Excel as well as demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping is desired.
Sales & Marketing Positions:
Route Sales Representative - DSD
We are looking for a Route Sales Representative to sell to and manage our customers through direct warehouse and DSD accounts. Build your route by growing our brand’s presence in your assigned territory. We will work with you to develop your retailer account plans, develop your skills at solution selling and provide you with resources, a budget and tools for merchandising and promotions. We offer a competitive salary and great benefits. To best serve our customers, qualified candidates must be organized self-starters able to:
- Work a 5-1/2 day schedule with early starting times
Perform physical duties of delivering frozen pizza product to stores via box truck/vehicle
Load delivery truck
Push, pull and lift cases
Work out of a freezer unit in all types of weather conditions.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A valid driver license with a good driving record; route vehicle may require a CLD Class A, B, or C.
- Route and/or commissioned route sales experience, grocery, retail or driving/delivery experience
- Food service/manufacturing industry or other related backgrounds preferred
- A great work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the business as you grow our brands in your assigned territory
