The Milwaukee Zoo hosted its annual "Wine and Beers of the World" fundraiser on Thursday, February 4th in the Peck Welcome Center. The evening consisted of great beers, strong wines, and good times with all entrance fees benefitting the Zoological Society of Milwaukee. Palermo's was there delivering delicious varieties such as Primo Thin Chicken Caesar and Primo Thin Margherita. The Hearth Italia Ragusa and Hearth Italia Napoli samples paired well with more than 50 different wines from

all over the world. The event was a major success, as we sampled 640 slices of fresh pizza. It was great to see so many familiar faces come out and support a great cause. We'll be back next year!

Did you know South Carolina has a sister state in Italy? Well, when you read the results from a recent
Charleston Post and Courier public taste test, it seems obvious.
Primo Thin Margherita and Grilled Chicken Caesar varieties were sampled and South Carolinians loved the authentic Italian taste. Here's a comment from a satisfied tester:
"Tasty, fresh, crunchy ... SO, No more mouths filled with DOUGH!"

Best Pizza Ever

It could be the famous pie of legendary chef Raffaele Esposito of Naples that so impressed beloved Queen Margarita on her visit to the city in 1889. Or maybe the first real deep dish that came out of Chicago in the '40s. Might it be Palermo's Prim Thin?
We've got to be delusional to think a frozen pizza could be mentioned in a group like this, right? Well maybe, but consider this, Palermo's Primo Thin was just awarded the Gold Medal by The American Masters of Taste. Headed by world-famous Chef Jesse Sartain, and employing rigorous "triple-blind" testing protocol, the Primo Thin was judged to have "Superior Taste" in the category.
Maybe it's not as famous as the above pizzas, but when a frozen pie gets awards like this, it aspires to higher competition.

Pizza Spotlight: Primo Thin Margherita
This famous pizza style traces its roots back to Naples, where it was named for Queen Margherita, who was impressed by one she tried it on a trip to Naples in 1889.
Our take on this royal favorite begins with a robust tomato sauce on our all-natural, ultra-thin crispy crust. It's then topped with a deliciously garlicky mixture of diced tomatoes, a medley of Mozzarella, Parmesan and Romano cheeses and a sprinkling of Parsley.
