Palermo's Pizza Pairs with the 13th Annual Mid Winter Brewfest
Over 750 people spent Sunday, February 21st at the Milwaukee Ale House for the 13th Annual Mid Winter Brewfest. Over 25 breweries came together to benefit the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer). The tickets were highly sought-after, and sold out weeks ago. Palermo's was lucky enough to serve up our best Primo-Thin varieties for the thirsty and famished alike. Usinger's was also in attendance handing out smoked sausages. The doors opened at 1pm, and an endless sea of beer lovers paraded in; most stopping at our location for a slice. So many arrived, in fact, that we had to make another trip back to our warehouse to get more pizza!

The beer connoisseurs took note of our beer pairing list as well. The Weiss from Milwaukee Brewing Co. complemented the Primo Thin Margherita exceptionally! Other style pairings include India pale ales or Golden ales with the Primo Thin Pepperoni, amber lagers with the hearty Primo Thin Sausage, and easy-drinking German pilsners with the topping-heavy Primo Thin Supreme. Try to match up your favorite Palermo's pizza with a brew next time!

The Mid Winter Brewfest featured two levels of imbibing from local favorites such as Lakefront, Sprecher, and Rock Bottom Breweries. Dogfish Head, Madison's Great Dane Pub & Restaurant, New Holland, and Bells also proved to be very popular. Musical entertainment featured The UW Alumni Band downstairs, and the cover band Copper Box upstairs on the main stage.

Over the four hour span of the event, we breezed through 150 pizzas. You can bet that we'll be back next year. Jim and Jason of Milwaukee Brewing Co. proved to be amazing people to work beside. Thanks to all who came out for a great cause and had a slice of Palermo's in the process.

Cheers!

A Day at the Betty Brinn Children's Museum
Parents and their children came together on Saturday, February 13th for a pre-Valentine's day celebration at the Betty Brinn Children's Museum. The family-friendly ice cream social lasted five hours, and it was a fun day had by all in attendance. An ice cream sundae station, three different levels of kid activities, and an entire room devoted to Palermo's Pizza were just some of the attractions. The young tykes showed impressive levels of patience waiting in line for a fresh slice of our best Rustico pizza. Cheese was the overwhelming favorite to turn any frowns upside down.

After devouring a morsel of Palermo's goodness, many kids headed to the 'dancing' room next door to work off their newfound energy. Some went downstairs to shop at a virtual grocery store, where Palermo's was fully stocked. Overall, we cooked 72 pizzas for the hungry masses. A special thanks to Kelly and her exceptional staff who helped us along the way. Hope you had a great Valentine's Day everyone!

Palermo's at Wine and Beers of the World Fundraiser
The Milwaukee Zoo hosted its annual "Wine and Beers of the World" fundraiser on Thursday, February 4th in the Peck Welcome Center. The evening consisted of great beers, strong wines, and good times with all entrance fees benefitting the Zoological Society of Milwaukee. Palermo's was there delivering delicious varieties such as Primo Thin Chicken Caesar and Primo Thin Margherita. The Hearth Italia Ragusa and Hearth Italia Napoli samples paired well with more than 50 different wines from all over the world. The event was a major success, as we sampled 640 slices of fresh pizza. It was great to see so many familiar faces come out and support a great cause. We'll be back next year!
